Many Thanks Card

Hello crafty people!
I am so glad to share this super bright and cheerful card with you all.
I had a lot of fun creating this and the best part is it took less than 10mins to do it.

I used the simon says stamp "many thanks " stamp set which has some very artsy roses and leaves. I wanted to create a panel filled with the pretty blooms and currently yellow seems to be my favourite of all colours😊

I got my altenew ink pads recently and I have no words to describe the beauty of these inks. They are viberant and perfectly planned for the multi step stamping. They dry super smooth and give you a beautiful finish.

For the sentiment I used the altenew jet black ink & the result was crisp and dark black. Very happy with the inks and I can not recommend it enough 😍

I trimmed the panel and added a black  cardstock for added interst. I used a lot of foam tape and raised the card panel.
I also added some wink of Stella and some clear iridescent SSS sequence

That's it for this card project and I will shoot a video tutorial soon and will share it with you all...
Thanks for stopping by ...c ya soon

Burlap mini album

Hi friends,
This is Arjita and today I will be working on the newly launched scrapbooking jute sleeves/pockets which I received few days back. Initially I was sceptical about the project but then finally decided to go ahead with a Burlap mini album and use the sleeves as ready made pages and pockets where I can insert few tags/photomats.
These burlap sleeves measure 8 1/4 inches L by 4 1/2 W inches . I think its a pretty decent size for a mini album and we can stick some good sized photos. Each sleeve comes with a stitched pocket and a beautiful lace is already added which make s it look all the more pretty. Since these pockets are attached with laces I wanted to carry this shabby chic look in my entire mini.
I used a very simple binding system and poked the two binder rings through all the six sleeves. This immediately gave it the look of a mini album and I was ready to start embellishing it:)

I decided to use some shabby chic papers I had in my stash and luckily I found the flowers and other elements of the same collection in our store .
The collection is called "Prima coffee break" which is so pretty and perfect for this album.
I have tonns of picture for u so that u can have a good look at the album from all sides and do check out the video tutorial for all the detailed instructions.

I used  lots of pretty laces , trims and some seam binding to give it extra glamour .
This is the front page of the mini and it's so romantic and chic 😍
I love the tag which says " oh darling , it's coffee time !" So cute ....
I like to colour coordinate my album pages and I put in a lot of effort to select the papers and embelishments . This gives it a good visual treat and makes the album well planned :)

The album turned out to be very chunky  and pretty and I think it will be a great gift for someone romantic and who loves coffee....lol
This is the video link for the tutorial.

I hope u had a great time watching this video and do try out this amazing mini .

Card making Fun with Riti

Hi friends,
I am super excited for my card today as it was created with a different thought and mindset. Me and my friend Riti came up with this idea of motivating each other to use the craft stuff lying with us. So we randomly picked up a stamp (by picking up a chit ;).....seriously we actually did it ...lol) and got this pretty stamp called LACY SCROLLS by our favourite company Altenew. We had been hoarding it forever .... so we gave each othe 24 hours to create something and share.

I decided to make a peach and gold card using few of the old products which were lying with me.
so without further a do lets begin.....
  • I created a golden background using a golden perfect pearls powder and few flourishes from the stamp set. I stamped the images with a versamark ink and brushed over some perfect pearls to get the golden patterned paper.  I used the Lawn fawn stitched rectangles to cut a nice crisp rectangle from the black PP.
  • I also made a coral coloured card stock using the ink pad (SU crisp cantaloupe) . This is a very easy way to match and customise your CS with the stamped images.
  • I stamped the two big flowers form the stamp set with StampinUp! crisp cantaloupe ink and then added shading with prisma coloured pencils. I used the same technique to colour the leaves which I had stamped with SU wild Wasbi ink. I used a fine pair of scissors to fussy cut the flowers and leaves.
  • Finally I arranged all the pretty elements on the card using some foam tape and layered it over a white card base. Added some golden twine and a golden sentiment to add more interest.
This was a very interesting Hoarder's challenge/time challenge ;) Riti picked me for. I am  pretty happy with this card and hope Riti will also like it. Thanks for all the fun........Will look forward for some more card making fun in future .
Check out Riti's Card at her blog as she had created a stunning masterpiece but using just one Colour....hats off to u girl!

Gilding Flakes-Tips and tricks

Mega flakes are beautiful quality gilding flake. Use with FlitterGlu to stamp and gild . Manufactured in a traditional way this kind of flake is a time old process where no dyes are used. All the flakes are made by hand. The effects from these Mega Flakes is truly amazing.
The term gilding covers a number of decorative techniques for applying fine gold leaf or powder to solid surfaces such as wood, stone, or metal to give a thin coating of gold or any other metal.

Gilding Flakes  can  add a touch of luxury to your creations ... and its super duper easy to do it.The flakescome in many colours and mixes to achieve any kind of look from Gold to Copper ... and everything in between.

And there tons of different ways to use them. today we will be looking at only the basics of gilding.

Packaging & storage

The gilding flakes come in small tightly compressed featherlight plastic containers and there doesn't seem to be much in there ... until you open the lid and see the goodness.
Its suggested that we must keep a larger container ready to empty the flakes into,  because its very difficult to get them back into the small container.

Things you will essentially need

  • Gilding flakes of your choice
  • scrubber -use this to burnish the flakes into the adhesive you're using and remove the fines (excess flakes).
  • Glitter glue/doube sided tape/spray adhesive/sticky embossing powder/sticky sheet
  • soft brush
  • Foam piece  to apply the glue .

 Some important tips:

  •  The flakes are very light and static do not work near a window and also keep your Fan and AC off.
  •  If the flakes are left at room temperature they will swell to give you much more that you had.
  • Do not cough ,sneeze or sigh when working with the flakes ....or u will land up with flakes flying everywhere;)
  • When you will apply the glue on the stamps wash them immediately as you don't want to spoil the costly stamps.
  • Place you project on a  scratch paper, to catch the fines and this makes it easy to funnel the flakes back to the jar
  • Pour a lot of  flakes over the sticky surface tap them with your fingertips ,make sure there is no stickiness left. Be generous to use the flakes

Swatches of Gilding flakes

When we buy the flakes they they come in many different colour mixtures and they all add that little touch of oomph and luxury to any card/project  that we make.
The swatches for the ones i have are :

How to use  the  Gilding Flakes

I wanna share some of the methods and surfaces these flakes works perfectly. i also wanna warn you that id u don't like getting messy this is not what you should try. ....it is indeed a messy product and even if u try keeping it in a box u will still find it all over your workspace and clothes. i love getting  messy and i totally love the gilding flakes:)
There are a lot of different ways and surfaces to use them and today will try some.

  • Paper
For this card i used Royal peacock to gild the butterfly and the sentiment.
This card took me less tan 10 mins and its a very quick and beautiful way to create gorgeous cards with these flakes.

  • Canvas
  • Wood
  • Glass

 Enjoy and happy crafting!

No line watercolouring -daffodils

Hi guys ,
I am excited to share this easy and beautiful card I made using the DAFFODIL stamp set by Jane's doodle.
The stamp is a beautiful collection of three flowers and some amazing sentiments.

I wanted to do some no line watercolouring using distress inks and lots of water.
I stamped the images with DI squeezed lemonade and created a cluster on the right hand side of a Fabriano 210gsm watercolour paper. I used the lightest yellow so that I can hide these lines with my other bright DI colours.

For colouring the flowers and leaves I used some more distress inks and got this pretty card.

I have a video tutorial and u can watch me doing all the steps. Here is the link.

Lots of love

Feather card - with inka golds

Hi friends,
I felt ecstatic after recieving so many beautiful comments and messages on my last post and video in which I featured the viva decor Inka golds. The last experience with the product was amazing so I decided to use it one more time and try few more tips n tricks.
I personally love creating cards because they are quick and give me 100% happiness but I want to mention all the steps can be very easily used to create layouts, tags and altered art.
So let's begin today's project and the things u will need are :
Inka gold -gold
Inka gold - lava red
Inka gold - apricot
Distress ink -cracked pistachio
Sizzix feathers die
Mini ink blending tool
Tonic trimmer
Craft mat
ATG (glue)
Tombow glue
Vellum
Versa mark
Super fine detailed white EP
Pearls /sequence

So guys !!grab all the supplies and let's start it together :)

Step1: die cut and emboss the feather from a white card stock and add gold on the tips fading downwards .

Step 2:die cut the arrows and paint them with red ,gold and apricot inka golds

Step 3: ink the card panel with cracked pistachio by using the mini foam blending tool. Apply two coats to get a more solid and even coverage .
😊TIP: always use the craft mat when you work with paints and inks. It is heat proof stain poof and super easy to clean.

Step 4: cut the coloured panel into four stripes of different thicknesses. Now start adding little strokes of gold using a small piece of foam. This will give it a beautiful golden distressed look.

Step 5: i embossed a sentiment on some vellum card stock using super fine white embossing powder.
😊TIP:It is always a good idea to use a powder tool to remove any static /oil/ or debris which might attract the EP. This makes the EP stuck only to the versa mark:)

Finally we all all set to assemble the card together.try different arrangements and then stick them the way you liked the most. I added few flat back pearls and gold seqence to jaa up the project.

Here is the video link which shows you each and every step to make this beautiful card.
